Demba Ba Goodbye To Toon Fans?

16 June 2012 15:34
Demba Ba has thanked Newcastle United's fans on Youtube, but suggests he doesn't like being played out of position on the left flank.

In an interview posted on Youtube on Friday evening he thanked supporters but failed to address the questions about his future.

The Senegal striker said: “The season has been very good for the whole club, the whole city and for me personally I had a very good season.

“I scored 16 goals in half a season – plus we play in the Europa League next season so we’re very happy.

“We were there at the end, fifth place and the Europa League – it’s amazing.

“These fans are just amazing. Some of the best fans I’ve seen so far and one of the best stadiums I’ve played in. I just want to thank them for the season.

“The second half of the season was less prolific for me because I was put on the left wing. We won a lot of games like this and everybody was very happy.

“I am very happy with the people I am playing with, with the national team and Newcastle.

“They are two groups of people I like being with outside of football. Yohan and Hatem are two people I like being with outside of football.”
