Debuchy 'Sell On' Fee Puts Off Ashley!

Are Newcastle ready to pull the plug on their long-running pursuit of Mathieu Debuchy?

That could well be the case ... unless Lille reduce their valuation of the full-back.

Debuchy is desperate for a move to Tyneside and failed to attend a scheduled training session on Saturday morning.

But Lille officials turned down Newcastle's initial £4m offer earlier this month, and they STILL won't bow to pressure from the 26-year-old.

Lille are refusing to lower their £8m valuation of Debuchy and Mike Ashley is unwilling to go that high because the "sell-on" figure (after four years at Newcastle) will be a fraction of that.

According to reports today: "A series of discussions have failed to produce a compromise, and Magpies managing director Derek Llambias is ready to turn his attention elsewhere if Lille continue to hold out for their desired fee."

Alan Pardew: "The two clubs need to make an agreement on the finance side about the players we're talking about.

"Unfortunately, there's no agreement at the moment."
