Davies - Earnie not for sale

Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies insists he has no plans to offload Robert Earnshaw. The Reds have bolstered their striking options this summer, with Dele Adebola, Dexter Blackstock and David McGoldrick added to a squad already brimming with attacking talent. That has led to reports suggesting Earnshaw, Forest's top scorer in the 2008/09 campaign, could be deemed surplus to requirements. Newcastle have been linked with an approach for the Wales international, but Davies claims the 28-year-old is not for sale. "There's been no official approach. We're looking to bring in defensive players, not lose anybody," said the Scot. Earnshaw was taken to the City Ground by former Forest boss Colin Calderwood last summer, and enjoyed a productive debut season on Trentside. He has, however, started just one of the Reds' five games in all competitions this term.
