Davide Santon - Do We Stick Or Twist?

Roma are set to make a move for Newcastle United full-back Davide Santon, according to reports in Italy.

And, we believe Alan Pardew could take the offer ... if they can double what Newcastle paid for him.

The former Inter player took a long time to settle in the Premier League.

And, although he started to look as good as his billing later in the season, there are still strong rumours the defender would like a return to his homeland.

The sports magazine also reports Santon is a big Roma fan, and that could also tempt him.

The Corriere dello Sport has reported that Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has discussed the option of taking Santon back to Italy ... and Newcastle have not discouraged him.

Santon said in December he was struggling with the physical side of the Premier League: "It is a tougher league than what I am used to, and I need time to change my game."

Alan Pardew is checking out several defenders, both for the right-back and left-back positions, and selling Santon wouldn't be much of a shock.
