Bent joined Villa for £18m two years ago, but has fallen out of favour under Paul Lambert this season.
Liverpool have been long credited with an interest in the England hitman, and the Daily Mail reports today that the 29-year-old has been told by Villa he is free to leave Aston Villa this summer.
Other national newspapers have linked Newcastle with an offer, but I can promise you, Bent will NOT be coming to St James' Park.
