Danny 'The Dog' Says Toon Still Have X-Factor!

11 December 2012 16:14
Danny Simpson gave X-Factor a miss this morning to tell us his team-mates couldn't have given more than they did in West London last night.

Danny Simpson: “It’s tough again – we’re doing all of the right things.

“We were sat in the dressing room afterwards, and everybody felt like we had nothing left to give.

“It was like we’d left everything on the pitch. I don’t think we have played as well as that for a long time.

“In the second half, I don’t think we’ve put in as many shots and crosses.

“We hit the post and the bar, and the keeper (Mark Schwarzer) made save after save.

“To have that kind of pressure, and play the way we did attacking-wise, you have to take something from it. It’s just disappointing again.

“It was another soft goal to concede.

“It was just a free-kick into the box, and Rodallega isn’t the biggest lad, is he?

“If it was (Brede) Hangeland who comes in and powers home, fair enough. But it was disappointing.

“It’s hard to take defeats for the fans.

“But I think they can see that it just isn’t happening for us.

“They can see that we are all working 100 per cent – every single one of us.

“That’s what they want to see from people in a Newcastle shirt, and they can tell we aren’t getting the luck.

“They’re just as frustrated as us. We just have to keep doing what we’re doing.

“We’re still a good team, and have good players. We are missing one or two, but the team that was on there is more than capable of winning games.

“We just have to do the right things, and we’ll get more points on the board.”
