ewcastle United's January acquisition Peter Lovenkrands has revealed his happiness at the club after slipping down Schalke's pecking order.[LNB] The Danish flyer was released by the Bundesliga outfit last month and was almost immediately brought in by The Magpies on trial to reinforce their depleted squad.[LNB]After impressing manager Joe Kinnear the former Rangers man was handed a contract and made a swift impact after opening his account with a goal in their 3-2 win at West Brom.[LNB]Lovenkrands, who is just happy playing football after his stint in Germany turned sour, has revealed he has settled quickly in the North East.[LNB]Miserable"It makes you miserable when you are not playing. It was difficult," he stated. "I now have that feeling of football is fun back in my body.[LNB]"People might laugh when I say I have rediscovered the fun side of the game here, given the ups and downs Newcastle have had, but it is true.[LNB]"We have a good set of lads. I am just so happy to be here, play football, get time on the pitch. My family is settled and I am enjoying it.[LNB]"I didn't really have that in the last few months in Germany. I wanted to get away and they knew that early this season so they didn't want to use me.[LNB]"I had a good first year in Germany and really enjoyed it. In the second year I had injuries and it was difficult times. My family didn't settle."[LNB]
