Davide Santon limped off the pitch on Sunday, and now Curtis Good has suffered a knee problem captaining the club's reserve side against Norwich City on Monday.

And the 20-year-old Austrailian – who had a spell on loan at Capital One Cup finalists Bradford City earlier in the season – will undergo an X-ray tomorrow.

Good suffered the injury in a 50-50 challenge with Olu Durojaiye in the game, which was won 2-0 by Newcastle thanks to goals from Brandon Miele and Michael Richardson.

Willie Donachie: “Curtis went for an X-ray, and hopefully it’s not too bad.

“He’s a great kid. He’s so honest, and that’s why he went in for the tackle.

“Hopefully it’s not too bad. He took a kick to his knee, but both knees clashed together.”

NEWCASTLE UNITED: Alnwick, Nicholson, Moyo, Logan, Satka, Good (Mbabu, 44), Aarons (Quinn, 46), Miele, Gilliead, Richardson, Amalfitano.
