Coloccini Told To Cut Back On Overhead-Kicks (At His Age!)

Yohan Cabaye and Fabricio Coloccini will both be available for Newcastle United's trip to Swansea City on Saturday.

And another boost for Alan Pardew - Hatem Ben Arfa is expected to be on the bench.

Cabaye left the field after scoring the penalty on Sunday, and Colo went off before half-time after he fell awkwardly following an acrobatic overhead clearance.

He was stuck by the corner flag at the Gallowgate with two Southampton players hanging off his shirt tails, so he improvized.

Something he shouldn't be doing at his age, joked Pardew.

Alan Pardew: “Cabaye was pulling the strings – it was a shame to lose him. He was feeling a bit dizzy.

“I was really pleased with the performance.

“You start getting those stats when you get a good side – we’ve not had a good side because of injuries and suspensions and perhaps a lack of numbers.

“We’ve corrected that now.

“It’s not that bad. I just told him not to try those overhead kicks at his age. I think that he’ll be OK.

“We’ve had to beat two really good sides this week.

“It has been a great week for us. We have had two great results.”
