Colo Still Yearns For Argentina!

Alan Pardew has talked with unsettled Newcastle United captain Fabricio Coloccini, but it seems as though the Toon skipper wants to leave Tyneside.

The defender is keen to return to his native Argentina this summer after five years on Tyneside, but he still has four years of his contract to see out.

At the end of the day, it's up to Mike Ashley. Newcastle can turn down his request, and that would freeze the player's career.Pardew: “I think it’s important that we show him the love, in terms of myself and the team, that we want him to stay.“I spoke to him at length this week. It’s got to ultimately work for him.“When this first surfaced, around Christmas last year, there were some cynical people saying that he would come and wouldn’t care. My God, he proved them wrong.“Since he’s come back (from injury), it’s been the biggest difference. Forget about Hatem (Ben Arfa) and everybody else, the biggest difference has been Coloccini.“If he does go, we need to replace that experience and quality.”
