Coleman Runs Short Of Excuses For Battering

Coventry boss Chris Coleman believed conceding an equaliser just two minutes after taking the lead in the first half had a huge impact on the outcome at St James' Park. But Coventry were well beaten, and even Coleman had to admit the last 30 minutes had his side with their backs against the wall. Chris Coleman: "We got a good goal, we had one cleared off the line and we got in some good positions," he said. "We are a bit disappointed to concede the equaliser so quickly after scoring but for an hour we were always in the game. "We knocked off for the second goal and when you are up against that type of quality you will be punished for one little slip and that is what happened."
