Class Of 92 - Are These Newcastle's Class Of 14?

Man Utd have made a film about Becks, Giggs and Co, shown this weekend, and could we have The Toon Class Of 14 ready to make history?

Joe Kinnear said two months ago: "Mike Ashley has ploughed £10m into Newcastle's academy and isn't it time we saw some reward?"

James Tavernier and Haris Vuckic joined Rotherham yesterday on loan ... and both know it is time they showed that they are Premier League quality.

Will it happen?

22-year-old Tavernier joined the League One club until January 2 – and was quickly followed to the New York Stadium by Newcastle team-mate Vuckic.

Tavernier has had loan stints with Gateshead, Carlisle, Shrewsbury, MK Dons and Sheffield Wednesday.

Tavernier: “Hopefully I can learn something new coming here and I’m really looking forward to it.

“My gaffer at Newcastle says it`s a short-term loan to get games under my belt and I’ll take every game as it comes and see what happens at the end of it.

“I found out that Rotherham were interested in me and straight away I thought it would be a good idea to come and get some games under my belt.

“I’ve had a good welcome from everyone and I’ve got a really good feeling about this and I can’t wait to get on the pitch on Saturday.

“Rotherham are on a great run at the minute and in a great position and hopefully I can help push them higher up the league and get them in with a chance of getting promoted.”

Slovenian starlet Vuckic has slipped down the pecking order at Newcastle after a succession of injuries, and is hoping the move will help him get his career back on track.

The 21-year-old has only featured once for the first team this season in the Capital One Cup at Morecambe, and was subbed at half-time after a nightmare.

Meanwhile, Adam Campbell could follow Tavernier and Vuckic out of the door in January when the Scottish loan window opens.

The striker is a target for St Mirren, where Newcastle team-mate Conor Newton is again on loan.
