Lee Clark claims, despite Wayne Rooney's return, Andy Carroll could yet prove to be the star at the European Championships with England

Lee Clark: “Andy had a great end to the season and he’s now took that into the Euros.

“I’ve always said if you give him the right type of service he is a danger to any defence.

“Don’t forget he was up against Olof Mellberg and Jonas Olsson, he done really well.

“He is different to anything we have got in this country.

“If you use him properly and get the quality of balls right to him, he is a real threat.

“In fact he’s unplayable in the air if the service is right.

“He’s got that great left foot too and he’s got that aggression.

“If England wanted to play with the two physical players up top they can in Carroll and Wayne Rooney.

“It’s great they have the choice and these are good omens for England ahead of Ukraine.”
