Clark rejects FA investigation

Huddersfield manager Lee Clark would be "very disappointed" if his club are punished by the Football Association for the mass melee which occurred against Newcastle. Players from both sides clashed at half-time in an ill-tempered friendly on Tuesday at the Galpharm Stadium, with the flare-up continuing down the tunnel as players left the pitch and the FA have confirmed they are "looking into the incident" after receiving referee Jon Moss's report. Clark told the Huddersfield Examiner: "Any kind of publicity regarding Newcastle United at the moment is being blown out of all proportion and I'll be very disappointed if anything happens as a result of this. "It's difficult for me to comment on what happened at half-time because I was in the dressing room waiting for my players to come in, but by all accounts it was nothing more than a shouting match between two groups of players having a disagreement. "From what I've been told, pictures I've seen and the very little bit I witnessed when I went to check things out, people were basically just arguing and shouting at each other. "There were no punches thrown, nobody was hit and it was just a disagreement between two bunches of players with a few people sensibly stepping in to usher them away. It's one of those situations which seems to be all about nothing."
