Clarets capture Edgar

Burnley have completed the signing of defender David Edgar from Newcastle. Edgar has signed a four-year deal with the Premier League new boys after seeing out his contract at St James' Park. Edgar made just 23 appearances for Newcastle and the Magpies will be entitled to a compensation fee because he is under 24. The Canadian will add options to Owen Coyle's side next season as he can play anywhere across the backline. The 22-year-old becomes Burnley's third new signing of the summer following the arrivals of Tyrone Mears and Steven Fletcher.
