Chris Hughton set for Birmingham

ShareChris Hughton will be named as Birmingham City's new manager on Wednesday. [LNB]The former Newcastle boss returns to football following Alex McLeish's controversial move to Aston Villa. [LNB]Hughton led Newcastle to promotion tothe Barclays Premier League in 2010 and has been desperate for a returnto football since his sacking six months ago.[LNB] Welcome back: Hughton will be named as Birmingham boss on Wednesday [LNB] He was on the shortlist for jobs at West Bromwich Albion and Burnley but held off competition from Gianfranco Zola and Roberto di Matteo to land the Birmingham job.[LNB]Hughton impressed Birmingham acting chairman Peter Pannu when being interviewed during the past few days.[LNB]It will be owner Carson Yeung's first managerial appointment since taking control of Blues during the early part of the 2009-10 campaign.
