Chopra On Course For Return!

Former Toon striker Michael Chopra is on course for a return to the Premiership. He scored as Cardiff moved level on points with QPR at the top of the table with an impressive 4-0 victory at Leeds. Jay Bothroyd capitalised on a defensive mix-up between United keeper Kasper Schmeichel and defender Alex Bruce to open the scoring in the 22nd minute. Michael Chopra seemed to be offside when he received a pass from Mark Hudson before steering a shot through the hands of Schmeichel for the second six minutes from the restart. Chris Burke made a great run and cross from the by-line for Bothroyd to convert from around eight yards for the third (56). Lee Naylor wrapped up the scoring on the hour mark with a fierce shot which beat Schmeichel at his near post. Leeds striker Luciano Becchio had a header correctly ruled out for offside 17 minutes from time, but that was as good as it got for the home side.
