Chopra is shear class

Alan Shearer will be to blame if Cardiff striker Michael Chopra puts a dent in Newcastle's Coca-Cola Championship charge on Sunday. That is the view of former Magpies coach John Carver as the 25-year-old prepares to long horns with his hometown club. Chopra managed just one Barclays Premier League goal in 21 appearances for Newcastle, but already has eight for the season since his return to Cardiff following a difficult spell at Sunderland. Carver said: "When Chops came in he had to find a way past Alan Shearer, Craig Bellamy, Carl Cort and Shola Ameobi. They were all ahead of him. "However, it has not surprised me he has been a success elsewhere. Don't forget, he has learned his trade from the very best. "We would take him away on Champions League trips to Barcelona or Inter Milan. You could not separate him from Alan Shearer."
