Chilly Jocks Give Rangers A Kick In The Nuts

28 January 2013 19:22
It's the most bizarre league in world football ... and Rangers are suffering at the tough end of it.

Top-flight clubs have given their "unanimous backing" to plans for a revamped 12-12-18 Scottish league structure ... and that means Rangers will not get promoted this season. Allegedly they would have gone into League Two if it was 14-14-14.

Or that's how we read it here at NU-Mad.

*(I'm sure we will be corrected if we are wrong)

Scottish Premier League chief executive Neil Doncaster revealed consensus had been achieved at a meeting of the 12 clubs at Hampden on Monday.

Scottish Football League clubs will meet to discuss the proposals, which include a merger of the two bodies, on Thursday.

Doncaster said: "We got unanimous backing of the way forward so it now goes to Thursday and the Scottish Football League clubs will have their views.

"The Scottish Premier League clubs were united in their view that this is the way forward."
