Carroll returns to starting line-up

ANDY CARROLL returned to the Newcastle United starting line-up at Barnsley on Saturday after missing out on the win at Coventry following his arrest over an alleged assault in the city centre last weekend.[LNB] Manager Chris Hughton also brought Kevin Nolan and Ryan Taylor into his starting XI with strikers Shola Ameobi and Peter Lovenkrands along with full-back Danny Simpson dropping to the bench.[LNB] Hughton, who celebrated his 51st birthday on Friday, was going in search of the Magpies eighth win a row which would be their best run in the league since the 1992/93 season.[LNB] Barnsley (4-4-2): Steele; Hassell, Shotton, Moore, Dickinson; De Silva, Colace, Doyle, Hallfredson; Bogdanovic, Gray.
