Newcastle striker Andy Carroll insists he is not fazed by the dearth of striking talent at the club.
While the Gateshead-born frontman admits it is tough to jostle with Shola Ameobi, Peter Lovenkrands, Marlon Harewood and Nile Ranger for a starting berth, he knows such a prospect can only be good for the Geordies.
And the 20-year-old is eager to prove himself to caretaker manager Chris Hughton, as he did for England Under-21s recently when he scored twice in their 6-3 win against Macedonia.
"We've got so many different options in Shola once he's fit, Nile and Peter Lovenkrands, plus now we've got Marlon Harewood," Carroll told the Newcastle Chronicle.
"Every one of them is different to play with but we just have to practice it in training and see who works best with each other.
"It's not daunting, but you know you just have to keep putting in the performances or it could change game by game."
