Carroll Gets Last Laugh Over Wheater
I don't think anyone would argue that David Wheater had Andy Carroll in his back pocket for 82 minutes at the Riverside on Saturday. But he blinked ... and Carroll took his eyes out! And Chris Hughton has sent a chilling message to Scunthorpe United ahead of their trip to St James’ Park on Wednesday night – that Andy Carroll is in no mood to turn down even half chances. Chris Hughton: “Andy wasn’t at his best, and he admitted that. “But he’s a player in fine form and his goal was great to see. “When you are in that sort of form, you will stick those chances away. “It was only a half chance but as I say when you’re in form you score them. “I’m sure he’ll be looking for more of that in the next few weeks.”
