Carroll For Robbie Keane? You Have Got To Be Joking!

14 September 2010 21:33
There was plenty of rumours already starting about who Spurs might sign to bolster their attacking options in January and Newcastle's Andy Carroll is said to be a real contender. The England Under-21 international's ability to lead the linehas impressed Harry Redknapp, who is understood to have inquired about Carroll during the summer transfer window. Now reports suggest that Redknapp is monitoring Carroll's progress through the opening months of the season, with a view to making a £6 million offer to take the striker to London at the turn of the year. That move could be helped further as Newcastle manager Chris Hughton is very keen on Spurs' Robbie Keane, apparently failing in a bid to sign the Irishman on loan last month. He has worked with the forward both at White Hart Lane and in the Republic of Ireland set-up in the past. Carroll for Tottenham? BOLLOX.
