The Mirror is the latest rag to say Barcelona are "serious about about moving for Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor in exchange for Carles Puyol" The Mirror says the Geordie stopper has a year left on his deal and faces crunch talks with the club next month over his future. "Newcastle are unlikely to risk letting Taylor walk away on a free in a years' time, writing off a potential £8million transfer fee, and will need to secure him on a longer term deal." Allegedly (if you read our message board) ... there is a person who is trying to arrange a move away for the Greenwich-born defender ... and if you believe what you read ... things were going on long before Andy Carroll gave Taylor a smack in the gob. As for Carles Puyol ... does anyone (apart from the Mirror) seriously believe he will take wages a QUARTER what he earns at Nou Camp to sign for Newcastle?
