Cabaye And Debuchy Score In French Masterclass!

Newcastle United pair Yohan Cabaye and Mathieu Debuchy both scored as France hammered Australia in a friendly.

France took on the Socceroos at the Parc des Princes in Paris and were 6-0 up in the first 50 minutes.

The French press purred over the sensational performance of winger Franck Ribery, but there was plenty of Premier League performances of note in the home of Paris Saint-Germain.

Firstly there was Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud. The former Montpellier man has been in great form for the club this season, and translated that form into international prowess last night.

He scored twice for Les Bleus in the first-half - with the first goal in particular a real gem.

At a difficult angle after an assist from Ribery, the Arsenal front-man improvised to send a delightful lob over Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Mitch Langerak in the Australian goal.

But the special goals did not stop there for Premier League members of the French national team.

Next up it was Yohan Cabaye who did the business. Again, after good work by Ribery, the Newcastle United midfielder ran onto a strike from 25 yards that rocketed into the back of the Australian net.

But more was still to come, from yet another Newcastle player. Mathieu Debuchy was given the chance to start due to the absence of Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna through injury.

And he enjoyed the moment, by smashing home a half-volley in the 47th minute - with Karim Benzema condemning Australia to their second consecutive 6-0 defeat.
