Butt returns but Simpson injured
NICKY BUTT is back in the Newcastle starting line-up but an ankle injury to Danny Simpson has forced Chris Hughton to re-shuffle his defence.
Fabricio Coloccini and Steven Taylor have both failed to recover in time for today's game meaning that Tamas Kadar will start in defence. Butt makes his first appearance since last month's 1-1 result against QPR. He will skipper the side.
Alan Smith is suspended. Ex-Newcastle forward James Coppinger starts for Rovers.
