Burnley not in for Duff

Damien Duff's advisor, Pat Devlin, has denied that the player is set to leave Newcastle and join Premier League new boys Burnley. The move would make headlines in the North-West after the winger began his career with the Clarets' fierce rivals Blackburn. The 30-year-old has gone on record saying that he wishes to remain at St James' Park despite the club's relegation to the Championship, and help them get back into the top flight at the first time of asking. However, reports in his native Ireland have stated that Duff would be interested in a switch to Turf Moor -something Devlin has strongly denied. "No, he's still under contract at Newcastle and that would be his first port of call," he told the Lancashire Telegraph. "I think someone's winding up the Burnley fans because he's a Blackburn fella."
