Bothroyd boost for Bluebirds

Jay Bothroyd is expected to be fit when high-flying Cardiff host league leaders Newcastle on September 13.[LNB]Bothroyd tore a knee muscle in City's 2-0 defeat at Doncaster last weekend but, despite initial fears he could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines, the striker is recovering well.[LNB]The 6ft 3in marksman has been a vital part of Cardiff`s attack this season and manager Dave Jones is confident he will run out against the Magpies.[LNB]"It's not too serious and we will nurse Jay through the next few days and see how he is early next week," he told the South Wales Echo.[LNB]"The signs are that he will be okay to play against Newcastle. We will wait and see how he progresses, but we hope he will be okay."
