Best Tells Toon Fans Not To Worry - He Will Bring The Goals

With no new strikers arriving on deadline day ... Leon Best is determined to hold on to his place in the side. Newcastle yesterday failed to land a striker before last night’s transfer deadline, despite Alan Pardew promising "one or two strikers before August is out". As a result, Best finds himself significantly higher up the pecking order at St James’s Park than he thought he would. Leon Best: “All I can do is give the manager a headache. “If you look at my record in the Premier League in terms of starts and goals, it’s one in two, or better. “To be honest, I wish the QPR game was tomorrow. All we can do as a team is try our best for the manager.”
