Best Gets International Call Up
Leon Best has been called-up to the Republic of Ireland squad. The striker has been capped seven times and he joins the 29-man provisional squad for the Republic's opening game of the Carling Nations Cup against Wales on Tuesday, February 8. Ex-Magpies Shay Given and Damien Duff are also included.
