Ben Arfa looks forward to Carroll link-up
Newcastle new boy Hatem Ben Arfa has promised to provide the ammunition for striker Andy Carroll to continue his impressive start to life back in the Barclays Premier League.
The 23-year-old France international will hope to make his debut in English football in Saturday's home clash with Blackpool after completing a loan move to St James' Park from Marseille.
That could see him link up with 21-year-old Carroll for the first time, provided that the young striker shakes off his ankle problem, as he attempts to add to his four goals to date for the campaign.
Ben Arfa told the Evening Chronicle: "I have seen Andy play in two matches so far and I have been very impressed with how hard he works for the team.
"I think there are a lot of players in the side who have got that same work ethic as Andy. That brings a great quality to the team.
"I want to start working hard now and providing the ammunition for people like Andy. I think there could be a lot of goals in this team."
