The Newcastle United forward has made Laurent Blanc’s 23-man squad for this summer’s European Championships, but he must have had doubts after being substituted after 59 minutes in Sunday’s 3-2 win over Iceland (with France 2-1 down at the time).
But the French coach says his form for Newcastle last season has earned him an international recall.
He hadn’t played for his country for almost two years.
