Beckford On The Move - But NOT To Newcastle!
Chris Hughton offered Jermaine Beckford the chance to join the Toon promotion band-wagon in January ... but the Leeds striker knocked it back. Reports today suggest Hughton will not hand Beckford a second chance to become a Toon player this summer. Beckford has told Leeds he will quit Elland Road as soon as he finds another club, and the queue is starting to form. Leeds chairman Ken Bates valued him at £2m ... for the three months left on his contract. And Newcastle refused to pay it. Hughton has since cooled his interest in the 31-goal striker who is attracting interest from Everton, Aston Villa and Serie A side Parma.
