Beardsley Has Us All Confused
Peter Beardsley feels that Shefki Kuqi is under no pressure to make an impact at St James' Park ... which is quite amazing considering he only has NINE games left! Pedro feels “Shefki is different class", but he hopes Best, Lovenkrands, Ameobi and Ranger keep him out of the team. Confused? Yep ... and so are we! Peter Beardsley: “I mean it in the nicest possible way but I hope Bestie (Leon Best), Peter (Lovenkrands), Shola (Ameobi) and Nile Ranger can keep scoring goals. “But Shefki will offer something too. I know what the Geordie punters are like and they love players with character. “If they see him play for 90 minutes they will love the type of character he is. “Shefki is different class and I can’t speak highly enough of him. “I have met a lot of nice people in football. For me Shefki is in my top 10. “I mean that genuinely, I have no reason to say it. “If you see him around the training ground, I think the gaffer did very well to get him on because of what he has brought to Newcastle. “I know he’s been on as sub a few times but playing for the reserves was his first start. “He worked his socks off and had a great attitude. “He is a pleasure to have around the place I have to say, and he is one of the best pros I have ever seen. “He loves his football and he loves the club already. “Shefki has been a credit to himself.”
