Bassong - We still believe
Sebastien Bassong has urged for the continued support of Newcastle United's fans after insisting the players still believe they can beat the drop.[LNB] The Magpies, who lie three points adrift of safety, could only draw against Portsmouth on Monday and now face an anxious final four games of the season.[LNB]French defender Bassong, though, has stressed that his team-mates will not give up hope of avoiding demotion.[LNB]He said: "We are disappointed because we needed a win. Everyone knows the situation and if we don't win our home games then it will be really hard to stay up.[LNB]"Now we have drawn, so it will be harder. But we believe, and we will keep playing.[LNB]"I can understand that the fans are very worried. The situation is not the best. I can just say to them to stay behind us, because we need them.[LNB]"Without them, we will have already lost, so if they stay behind us we will try to give the maximum to stay up. It will be easier with them."[LNB]
