Award for Hughton
Newcastle boss Chris Hughton has been named the Coca-Cola Championship manager of the month for August.
The Magpies started life in the Championship with a draw at West Brom but have since recorded four wins in succession, beating Reading, Crystal Palace, Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester.
Hughton told official club website www.nufc.co.uk: "I'm delighted to take the award but thanks must go to the staff, especially Colin Calderwood and Paul Barron, and most importantly the players.
"They have been magnificent and this award is for them."
