Pardew said that it would be up to the three NCJ titles to respond - despite the original letter saying "We do not require a reply to this letter, our position on this issue is not up for negotiation."
When asked if the situation was getting ugly between the local papers, Pardew said today in his Press conference: "We have drafted them a letter which we think is correct.
"And that's it really.
"They have to respond to that."
Pardew was also asked if he had spoken to Mike Ashley in the aftermath of derby day defeat.
He said: "We had a brief message to each other.
"But it was all in the right manner.
"He wants to win and so do I."
