The only statement Ashley has ever made to Newcastle fans was the week Kevin Keegan left St James' Park because Dennis Wise was buying players KK had not even heard of. There was a demonstration before the Hull City game and Ashley went into hiding - taking advice from the police because tempers were running high with supporters. He released a statement that was utter waffle - talking about his love of going to watch ENGLAND play and his love of football - but not that much about NUFC. If anything, it showed how little the man knows about the game, which is probably why Derek Llambias has 'encouraged' him to leave such matters to others. Llambias knows he, himself, is as popular as a fart in a spacesuit with Toon fans, and as Pardew is not there to pick the team (that seems to be Ashley's hobby) ... why not give Pardew the honour of doing something for his money. Barton claims to have been fined two weeks’ wages by the club - £120,000 - as his inevitable exit from St James’ Park draws closer. Returning to the social networking site yesterday, the midfielder tweeted: ‘Ha ha the inevitable, 2 weeks wages fine has just arrived. Needless to say it shall be appealed forthwith. #kickingamanwhilsthesdownha.’ Barton turned up at the club yesterday but was told to train alone. And Pardew will have a similar feeling when he answers the media questions. Just as he did when he signed for the club and he was introduced on TV by himself. Now ask yourself ... have you EVER seen a new manager take a press conference by himself?
