The Toon boss put a brave face on it saying "I think that makes sense".
Alan Pardew: "I had a discussion and really the targets we are after were probably impossible, and I think that makes sense.
"Sleeping on it, we have got good cover for Ryan with James Tavernier in particular and James Perch, who can play those roles, so we will go with what we have got now and in January, maybe look at it."
