Ashley Frustration Grows - Pressure On Pardew And Kids!

19 November 2013 12:57
Slovenian striker Haris Vuckic has been reduced to just a single start for Newcastle this season and he only has himself to blame.

I go along with Alan Pardew on this one ... the kid fails far too often on the big stage!

Pardew is keen to send him out on loan, but he has been down that road before, and I think - unless he gets finger out of his arse - he will be another striker "prospect" heading out of the door.

Apparently "a clutch of League One suitors are poised to offer Newcastle United’s forgotten man Haris Vuckic a chance to revive his career", or so we read in the newspapers today.

But, despite showing amazing promise in the reserves a while ago, he has not helped his cause when thrown in at the deep end in the first team - last season or this.

Struggling Sheffield United, Notts County and Wolves are all understood to have made enquiries.

He desperately needs to play again after a series of injuries hampered his promising progress, and it doesn't seem as though he is anywhere near the first team.

He lasted just 45 minutes in the Capital One Cup at Morecambe – and he was SHOCKING.

Vuckic has scored four times in three games for the under-21 team and was watched by scouts from Championship and League One clubs earlier in the month when he notched in Newcastle’s 6-2 reverse against Aston Villa at Burton.

The Slovenia striker is one of a number of squad players on long-term contracts at United, with Newcastle having extended his contract until 2016 two years ago.

The pressure is on Pardew to produce some promising youngsters through the academy, with Mike Ashley saying in the summer he had ploughed £10m into the system and seen very little for it.

And for once ... I agree with the owner.
