Ashley Faces Major Dilemma With Toon Players!

Jose Enrique wants to see fresh blood at St James' Park this summer, with some major signings. But Mike Ashley insists he will continue with a wage cap that could see major players leave! Jose Enrique: “We need players for next season in the Premier League, of course, but that is normal – every team will need new players. “It is not my work to say how many but I hope we will sign some new players because it is good to have a big squad. “But if we do not sign anyone, I don’t care because our team is full of good players.” But, with players like Joey Barton still on £60,000 a week, and a wage cap in place (allegedly at £35,000) there is going to be a lot of talking between players and the ownercome the summer. Some suggest Steven Taylor could use the wage cap as an excuse to get away from the club, now that relations between him and Andy Carroll are uneasy (to say the least). And the foreign trio of Coloccini, Jose Enrique and Gutierrez ... as well as Carroll ... will be targets for big clubs come the end of the season. Gutierrez is in the shop-window as far as the World Cup goes, and should Argentina do well ... as expected ... there is no way Ashley is going to tie him down on £35,000 a week!
