Ashley Didn't Want Two 'Expensive Left-Backs'
Alan Pardew insists he was not allowed to bring in another left-back until AFTER Jose Enrique was sold. "My hands were tied", says the Toon boss. Alan Pardew: “We could not bring in a left-back to be ready for this situation because if Jose had have stayed then we would have had two very expensive left-backs.“We could not afford to do that. I hope the fans understand that.“We will be doing everything we can to get them a result on Saturday.”
