As If Pardew's Grovelling Couldn't Get Any Worse!

23 July 2013 12:26
Alan Pardew insists he isn't worried about Newcastle United's lack of progress in the transfer market - despite the signings made elsewhere.

Pardew's excuse for a poor season last campaign was: "Our squad isn't big enough!"

We move on FOUR players (Harper, Perch, Simpson and Gosling) - buy NONE - and Pardew now says: "We have a big squad!"

Newcastle are the only Premier League club who are yet to sign a senior player.

And the lack of activity on Tyneside is in stark contrast to the business already done on Wearside, with the number of arrivals at Sunderland almost in double figures.

While supporters are becoming increasingly frustrated, Pardew is hopeful he will get the players he needs.

Alan Pardew: “Some clubs have brought in players that I wouldn’t bring to this club.

“I wouldn’t read too much into that.

“Strikers are the hardest deals to do. I’m hoping for some good news this week.”

But the major problem some supporters have is the way the Mackems are conducting business!

Paolo Di Canio has hand-picked the players he has brought in - each and every one he knows.

Pardew has had names thrown at him, and I can confirm - some of the players we are (supposedly) "after" he hasn't even seen play!

Names rattled off by foreign scouts, or people who are over-ruling his authority.

He is desperate to strengthen his squad, but the bizarre situation he finds himself in - he gets what he is given! PERIOD!
