Jonas Gutierrez has accused Championship defenders of trying to bully and target him. The £6million winger returns for Newcastle on Wednesday night after recovering from a hamstring injury and he is hoping to be fit for Argentina's crucial two remaining World Cup qualifiers against Peru and Uruguay next month. But the former Real Mallorca midfielder admits he is taking time to adjust to life in the Coca-Cola Football League since Newcastle's relegation, and he is coming to terms with the extra attention being handed out by some teams. Distant dream: Newcastle winger Jonas Gutierrez yearns for an immediate Premier League return, fed up by being a target for 'bullies' in the Championship Gutierrez said: 'I do feel targeted, that is why it is so important to play at home because then we can open out the pitch.  A leap of faith: Nicky Butt jumped off Sugar Loaf with Roy Keane, but now both have new mountains to climb...Keegan's payout battle is keeping Ashley at Newcastle United even longerIpswich Town 0 Newcastle United 4: Keane set for winter of dissent  'We know we have players who are very good in a one versus one so it is very important to play at home. The pitch is big and we can do our game a lot better. 'We have not been rattled by any bullies. We know it is big for a lot of teams to play against us because we are the biggest club in the Championship, they run a lot and give everything. 'Maybe the game after they play against Newcastle, they are very tired because they give so much against us. They work so hard and run so much and we are prepared for that. 'For so many teams, this is their Cup final, their biggest game and we know that. But I think we are handling it well. Looking for cover: Depleted caretaker boss Chris Hughton is without Ryan Taylor and Joey Barton 'It is physical, technically it is less than the Premier League but all the matches are hard, more especially the ones away from home. 'At home, we are doing very well and are able to open out the pitch which makes it very difficult for the other team.' 'Away from home, the other team try to  keep it tight, kick a lot of high balls, run a lot and shut down space so it is more difficult for us. 'But I think we are doing things very well and taking a lot of points. We are going the right way. 'I can't wait to be on the pitch again. It was a long time out because it was a muscle injury. It was a month out and it was difficult to watch the matches in the stands or on television. Now I just want to play.' Wednesday night but caretaker boss Chris Hughton has confirmed he will be without midfield duo Joey Barton and Ryan Taylor, whose injuries are being assessed. Barton's ankle injury is causing particular concern and the former Manchester City man is awaiting the results of fresh scans amid fears the problem will rule him out for up to two months.
