Ameobi Nails His Colours To Nigerian Mast
Samuel Ameobi, younger brother of Shola Ameobi, has joined Nigeria's Flying Eagles squad training in Turkey ahead of the African Youth Championships. Coach John Obuh: “He will go along with us to Dubai, where we will play two friendly matches against Egypt and Saudi Arabia. We will therefore have a chance to fully assess the player there.” Sam is a striker who can also play as a left-winger. He is the third Ameobi to join Newcastle United. His immediate older brother, Tomi, is now at Leeds United after passing through the Newcastle Academy just like big brother Shola. Shola is yet to make his debut for Nigeria, but was expected to last month. However he suffered a broken cheekbone and pulled out of the squad.
