Allardyce Tells Hughton To Knock On Ashley's Door!
Following the 5-1 thrashing of the Mackems, former Toon manager Sam Allardyce gave his own slant on the Chris Hughton saga with Mike Ashley. Sam Allardyce: "After a result like that, and the press speculation this week, I would tell Chris Hughton to go to Mike Ashley and demand a new contract. "Bang on his door and tell him the speculation must end!" Chris Hughton: "My position is no different this week to what it was last week and the week before. "I am manager of this football club and very proud to be manager of this football club, and I am endeavouring to get the best results possible, and we were able to do that today. "My position is no different. Those decisions are always down to the club, as they always have been. "My remit at this moment is to do the best job that I can. I am incredibly proud of a group of players today who made a very, very difficult game comfortable at times for them."
