Dutch Euro cruise continues against Finns

World Cup finalists Holland moved to within a point of qualifying for the Euro 2012 finals after they recorded their eighth success in eight qualifiers here on Tuesday with a 2-0 win over Finland.
The Dutch could seal their place later on Tuesday if Sweden suffered an unlikely reverse against pointless San Marino - but nevertheless all they require is a point against either Moldova or the Swedes.
The visitors broke the deadlock in the 29th minute as playmaker Wesley Sneijder set up defensive midfielder Kevin Strootman, who provided a clinical finish.
Fortunately for the Finns, the Dutch were restricted from their freeflowing passing game by the weather conditions which had seen the pitch reduced to a mudbath.
The Dutch were also lacking the sharpness they had showed in front of goal in the 11-0 demolition of San Marino last Friday, as Sneijder missed two chances while Robin van Persie and as did Eljero Elia all in the second-half.
However, they put a more realistic touch to the scoreline when striker Luuk de Jong scored in the third minute of time added on and take their total haul of goals to 34 in the qualifiers, an average of eight per match.
