Who's the (grand) Daddy?

Who exactly is this character donning the white of Nelson at Glossop on Saturday. It is of course none other than Nelson's versatile assistant manager and coach Stewart Thompson, who swapped the dugout for the Surrey Street pitch at Glossop to play as an emergency striker for the last 15 minutes. It was a sterling effort by Stewart, as well as goalkeeper Matt Mugan who also made the outfield with 20 minutes remaining, and indeed the whole patched up team who scared the living daylights out of North End for the majority of the match. He proved the old adage that form is temporary but class is permanent, showing his prowess with a couple of nice aerial flicks and passing moves. Stewart's appearance even helped to calm down what had become an agitated Steve Young in the home dugout - who was no doubt thinking thank the Lord it wasn't him having to get out there! Hopefully Stewart will have recovered in time for a good half hour run out against New Mills on Wednesday night.
