The agent of Bayern Munich's out-of-favour striker Luca Toni has played down talk of a January transfer to Napoli.

Thirty-two-year-old Toni has been frozen out at Bayern by new head coach Louis van Gaal and is keen to secure first-team football elsewhere.

However, his agent Tullio Tinti said: "You can't talk about these things at the moment.

"There are still four months to go until the transfer window shuts and a lot can change between now and then.

"Does he want to return to Italy? As I said before, it is too early to discuss such matters."
