Napolis Insigne ruptures knee ligaments

Napoli's Italian international Lorenzo Insigne will be out for at least four months after rupturing his right knee ligaments during the 1-0 weekend victory over Fiorentina, the club said Monday.

The 23-year-old winger suffered the blow after 25 minutes of the Serie A clash that lifted Rafa Benitez's side up to third in the table, seven points behind leaders Juventus.

Insigne has picked up six caps for Italy and was part of the World Cup team that crashed out at the first round stage in Brazil last June.

Belgian striker Dries Mertens is the likely replacement for Insigne when league action resumes after the international break.
